I compared Bulleit 95 Rye Aged 10 Years with Knob Creek Rye Aged 10 Years. I opened both bottles at the same time and smelled. There is a slightly more alcohol vapor smell from Knob Creek and a very slight cherry smell from Bulleit. Then I compared the Bulleit and Knob Creek three different ways. First, I made two Manhattan's using Martini Rosso sweet vermouth and angostura bitters. Took two sips out of each. Nod goes to Knob Creek. Then I made two basic Old Fashioned's using simple syrup and angostura bitters. Nod goes to both. They're both good in their own way. Then I waited until the next day and took a quarter of a shot of each. They both were strong. Don't recommend shooting either one. I then realized that I need to have each of them poured neat and on the rocks. Nod went to Bulleit. If you are able to, get both and do your own experimenting. I found that both are good, very good. It depends on what you're craving at the time.
