Born at the Foot of a Legend
“A spirit that carries the memory of mountains and centuries of mastery.”
Ararat Brandy draws its name — and its soul — from Mount Ararat, the eternal symbol of Armenia. Since 1887, master blenders at the Yerevan Brandy Company have transformed the finest local grapes into a spirit of extraordinary character.
Each expression is a tribute to the land, the people, and the centuries of winemaking tradition that make the Ararat Valley one of the world's most celebrated grape-growing regions. The result is a brandy unlike any other — smooth, complex, and deeply expressive.
From the young and vibrant 3 Star to the rare and treasured Dvin, every bottle of Ararat tells a story of a people proud of their heritage and dedicated to the art of distillation.
Distilled from the Land
At the heart of every Ararat expression is the unique terroir of the Ararat Valley — a sunlit basin between the Caucasus and Taurus mountains, where extreme temperature swings concentrate sugars in the grape to remarkable levels. The predominantly White Rkatsiteli variety, grown at altitude, provides the clean, aromatic base wines that become Ararat brandy.
Distillation takes place in traditional copper pot stills, preserving the wine's natural character. The spirits are then aged in Limousin oak casks from France alongside Caucasian oak barrels. Armenia's dry continental climate drives deep barrel interaction — giving Ararat its signature amber depth and the complex, spiced warmth that no other region on earth can replicate.

The Armenian Way of Brandy
In Armenia, brandy is more than a drink — it is a ritual of welcome, a token of celebration, and a symbol of national pride. A bottle of Ararat placed on the table signals that the occasion matters, that guests are honoured, and that the moment deserves to be remembered forever.
Ararat is served neat, at room temperature, in a wide-bowled brandy glass that opens the bouquet. Tradition calls for slow sipping alongside dried apricot, walnut-stuffed prunes, sujukh, dolma, and khorovats — Armenia's beloved grilled meats. At every Armenian feast, the first toast — the badeev — is raised in communal silence: a collective breath of gratitude before the celebration begins.
