Patron
Patrón is one of the most iconic names in the world of tequila, synonymous with ultra-premium quality and global prestige. Founded in 1989 by entrepreneurs John Paul DeJoria and Martin Crowley, Patrón was created with the vision of elevating tequila from a party drink to a refined spirit deserving of the same respect as fine whiskey or cognac. From the beginning, the brand committed to producing small-batch, handcrafted tequila made entirely from 100% Weber Blue Agave.
Crafted at the Hacienda Patrón in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, each bottle of Patrón is a result of meticulous traditional processes. The agave is harvested by skilled jimadors, slow-roasted in traditional stone ovens, crushed using a combination of modern roller mills and the old-world tahona method, then fermented and distilled in copper pot stills. This combination of heritage and precision results in tequilas with remarkable balance, smoothness, and layered character.
Patrón offers a range of expressions, from the classic Silver—bright, crisp, and clean—to aged varieties like Reposado and Añejo, which develop complexity from time spent in oak barrels. Gran Patrón, the brand’s luxury line, pushes boundaries further with expressions like Gran Patrón Platinum and Burdeos, finished in Bordeaux wine barrels. Each bottle is hand-labeled and individually inspected, underscoring Patrón's dedication to craftsmanship.
Beyond the liquid, Patrón pioneered a new image for tequila—elegant, sophisticated, and aspirational. It helped define the premium tequila category, paving the way for a new era of appreciation. Today, Patrón remains a symbol of excellence and innovation in tequila, staying true to its artisanal roots while continuing to inspire discerning drinkers around the world.
